River of Guidance

River of Guidance is a program offering short online experiential courses, to further deepen into the heart of our lineage wisdom and practice. The River of Guidance flowing through our silsila inspires us to look afresh at how we apply perennial wisdom to our life conditions and how we manifest our realization in service to the world we are part of.

In this two-class series we will address an essential paradox; how we let go of self-identity (Fana) and at the same time discover the universe manifesting through us (Baqa). In some sense these poles represent two aspects of our Sufi path: Ilm (wisdom), and Ishq (love). Together we will explore these two beautiful aspects of the One.

The further I go on this path the more compassion I have for the challenging human job of trying to be “somebody” holding it all together in a difficult world. Ironically when we can accept the inherent brokenness we each have within us, a wholeness can emerge and further a sense of connection with all living beings.

He is a psychiatrist and has worked with dream work, psychotherapy, mindfulness based cognitive therapy as well as intensive treatment of depression in the residential setting. He grew up Rosicrucian and has practiced with many Sufi and Buddhist teachers. He recently worked integrating these practices in a long retreat with the help Murshid Himayat Inayati.
